Functional Nanostructures & Advanced Imaging Lab

The Segal-Peretz Lab

To boldly go where no nanostructure has gone before

Our lab goal is to enhance the sustainable use of resources and improve nanotechnologies by developing new nanomaterials and nanofabrication processes.

Research at a Glance

atomic layer processes

The rapidly growing global population places immense pressure on essential resources such as water and energy, while increasing product demand accelerates COâ‚‚ emissions and contributes to waste accumulation. Our research addresses these challenges across multiple fields, including semiconductor and advanced materials nanomanufacturing, clean water production, and sustainable plastics solutions. Leveraging our expertise in nanomaterials and nanostructures, we integrate atomic layer processes, polymer assembly and patterning, and advanced nanoscale characterization techniques. By investigating the fundamental behavior of molecules in nanoscale systems, we develop innovative nanostructures designed to address critical issues in water, energy, manufacturing, and sustainability.
